OttawaNPservices Clinc is a private, nurse practitioner—led primary care clinic located in Stittsville, Ottawa, Ontario. The clinic provides primary healthcare services to registered patients in accordance with the laws, regulations, and standards applicable to healthcare facilities operating in Ontario.

As a privately operated medical clinic, OttawaNPservices Clinic is not a Family Health Team (FHT), Community Health Centre (CHC), or hospital. Services rendered may be subject to billing outside of OHIP coverage in some circumstances. Patients are advised to review the price list for specific services at the time of booking.

All nurse practitioners practicing at Ottawa NP Services are registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in accordance with the Nursing Act, 1991, S.O. 1991, c. 32, and the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA), S.O. 1991, c. 18. Registration in the Extended Class (EC), the designation that permits independent NP practice, is required for all practitioners at this clinic.

Nurse practitioners in Ontario must meet ongoing competency requirements set by the CNO, including continuing education, professional development, and adherence to the CNO Standards of Practice. All NPs at this clinic carry professional liability insurance as required by CNO registration standards.

Patients are matched with the appropriate NP based on age and care needs. Please confirm your practitioner’s specialty category at the time of registration.

Under Ontario law and CNO standards, nurse practitioners in the Extended Class are authorized to perform a defined set of controlled acts and provide a broad range of independent primary care services. Patients should understand both the capabilities and the boundaries of NP practice.

Prescribing authority for nurse practitioners is governed by Regulation 275/94 under the Nursing Act, 1991, as amended. NPs may prescribe drugs listed on Schedule I of the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act only. Prescribing of controlled substances (e.g., narcotics, benzodiazepines) is subject to additional restrictions under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada).

If your care needs exceed the scope of NP practice, you will be referred to an appropriate physician, specialist, or emergency services without delay.

All nurse practitioners at Ottawa NP Services are individually accountable to the College of Nurses of Ontario for their professional conduct and clinical decisions. The CNO has the authority to investigate complaints, impose conditions on registration, and revoke registration where warranted under the RHPA and Nursing Act, 1991.

Ottawa NP Services, as a clinic operator, is responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant practice environment, including facility standards, infection control, record-keeping, and equitable access to care.

Ottawa NP Services collects, uses, and discloses personal health information (PHI) only in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). PHI is used solely for the purposes of providing healthcare, communicating with other circle-of-care providers, and meeting legal obligations.
